Has this ever happened to anyone and if so what can you do to help?

Alright two nights ago my friend decided for some incomprehensible reason took five quad stacks pills of ecstasy. Ever since then hes been freaking out, he wont sleep, wont eat, talks to "spirits" and keeps yelling "im going insane." So far we have witnessed him in a dark closet talking to no one. Also he ran out of his room downstairs then back up and outside and was talking to a bush. We took him to the hospital but there not really doing anything that is heping him hes still in the same state as he was when he entered seven hours ago. Has this ever happened to someone, and if so how were they affected after everything went back to normal? Is he going to be like this forever?
