most people do not know the actual facts behind advertising claims, they usually just go with whatever people tell them. They could match up a lexus and a g5 and claim that the g5 outperforms the lexus because it is a JET! haha similar basis for comparing the nicer mercedes cl with the lexus- people will hear that and think "hey, mercedes is better than lexus- i better buy a mercedes instead of a lexus because the nice man on tv told me so"
