Good plants for deep shade patio container gardening?

I REALLY enjoyed Coleus that I planted in my new shade bed last year. Gorgeous foliage. How about Caladiums? Look like elephant ears. Lot's of new color combo's. pink and what not. If your not too good about watering try to apply a heavy mulch to hold moisture and maybe try a "wicking" trick where you put a can of water next to plant maybe 1/2 buried and fill with water and have a cloth going to your plant so that the plant can kind of suck water out of can like a straw. Or drill small holes in bottom of can so that the water slowly trickles into soil which will keep soil moist longer. Also Hosta's can take a lot a neglect especially after their first year in the ground and they sure have a lot of variety out there. Good luck
