Is it a firmware error on the router when I keep getting disconnected on irc when wireless?

Whenever I'm on the wireless connection I keep getting disconnected from time to time, sometimes as often as every three minute. I stay disconnected for maybe a second or two. I'm using the IRC client mIRC. I have had the same problem with another computer. I tried with a cabeled connection, and with that I don't get disconnected.
